Fresh bamboo plants are treated at 800°C to 1000 °C in brick kiln for several weeks to form charcoals with millions of porous micro-structures that absorb pollutants and excess moisture. It’s all about high surface area. The micro-porosity provides more than sufficient surface area that absorbs gas molecules naturally without any chemical reactions.

Recharge your bag every month by placing it in direct sunlight for a couple of hours, or more frequently if there are especially heavy odors that might slow down the absorbing rate.

Reusable and Recyclable

Please put the charcoal bags under the sunlight at least once a month. The UV rays will clear out the cavities of the bamboo charcoal and make them absorbent again. With proper maintenance, it can be reused up to two years. After used it for two years, the bamboo charcoal can be a good fertilizer to your garden plants, just sprinkle the bamboo charcoal into the soil, the porous bamboo charcoal will help the soil absorb moisture and nutrients.
